Update: House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) application on The Hollies

December 18, 2018

Further to the previous post in October, that application was eventually withdrawn. However, two new applications have just been submitted:

  • To remove a condition on the original planning permission which meant the property could not be used as a HMO.
  • To transfer the property from a class C3 dwelling house to a class C4 HMO.

As a reminder, a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) is where rooms are let individually to at least five unrelated tenants - as opposed to the property being let as a single household.

As in the previous post I have highlighted these planning applications because it represents quite a significant change to the ethos of the community which has always been very family oriented.

I encourage all residents to read both planning applications and respond to both if you wish to voice any options. The links are below:

Please give an honest opinion to these applications; in these cases the individual residents need to give their own opinions and the HRA cannot speak on your behalf.

This must be done by 4th January 2019.
